Smoke Detectors Save Lives

Smoke detectors are the cheapest insurance you can buy.

The majority of fatal house fires strike at night, while people are asleep. Smoke detectors wake people up before smoke overcomes them. Be sure your home is equipped with at least one smoke detector for every level in your home.

Visit the National Fire Prevention Association's website for lots of safety tips about your smoke detector: www.NFPA.org

Free Smoke Detector Installation

Take advantage of the Edmonds Fire Department's free smoke detector program. Low-income or senior Edmonds residents who don't have a working smoke detector in their residences are eligible. For more information call the Edmonds Fire Department at 425-771-0215.
