In an emergency, a few minutes or even seconds can make the difference in the outcome. Make you house easy to find with house numbers that stand out!

• House numbers should be four-to-six inches high and one-inch wide.

• Contrast the numbers with their background. For instance, black numbers on white siding.

• Be sure the address is clearly visible from the street.

• If you live off a long, private drive, post an address sign (using the same numeral dimensions described above) on the street and at the end of your drive.

• For private drives with numerous houses, use directional arrows with house numbers as the driveways branch off the main drive. Don’t forget to also post your address on the house to confirm we are at the right location.

• If it is dark, turn-on porch and yard lights.
